It’s a girl…

For those of you interested, Ann had her 20 week ultrasound on Wednesday. We saw a definite 3 lines, and not a little ‘finger’. According to the lady doing the ultrasound, and all the other people who’ve already had kids, that means it’s a little girl. I guess I didn’t do a good job of putting the ol’ stem on the apple.

We were both a bit bummed out, because we were really hoping for a boy; Ann because boys are so much easier to raise, and me because I wanted a child to teach karate to. Oh well. I guess we can always try again. NOT! Really, though, I’m just happy because I saw 10 fingers, 10 toes, 2 eyes, a nose, 2 lips, 2 ears… you get the point.

    And John, you can always teach girls karate as well :)

    In fact, it’s usually good for them to know something like that :)

    First off congrats to you two. Lisa and I are very happy for you and can’t wait to see the fall out as we are parents too and enjoy seeing new parents and babies. The whole boys are easier thing is a myth. Lets use Walker as an example. The boy is gonna put me in a home before he graduates high school. My two girls on the other hand have been much easier up to now. Now we are getting into the whole dating thing and it’s getting alittle rougher. Regardless you two enjoy the wonders of parenthood and be ready to put aside everything in your lives to run this baby girl everywhere…(dance lessons, softball practices, volley ball games, school dances…etc)

    Congratulations! I agree with Liz. Girls are pretty much better than dudes at karate. Well just as good anyway. But they may need it more ;} Anyway, take care of Ann! Lots of pedicures, cute clothing and fun pampering is due her way. Congrats to both of you.

    Unfortunately, I don’t have a scanner. I’m trying to find one somewhere, but no luck so far.
